Lisbon in undeniably one of the most beautiful cities in the world, with a plethora of rich cultural diamonds, like museums, monuments and natural landscapes, in which you can wander and capture with your bare eyes or your camera. Ready? Let’s go!
1. Explore the city
Lisbon is loaded of alluring architectural jewels all over for your eyes to admire just by having a walk in the city. The range of constructive styles is pretty wide and interesting coming from different decades with a unique style each one.
2. Admire Belem Tower
This Unesco Heritage site was build in 16th century and it played a major role during the era of new discoveries. All exports were shipping from here and it could be helpful as defend mechanism during dark times of war. Nowadays it has the most beautiful sea view and an extraordinary baroque architecture.
3. Visit Jeronymos Monastery
Along with tower of Belem Jeromymos Monastery was also named an Unesco protected world heritage. It was built in 15th century and the artistry of the interior and the exterior is unremarkable. You can wander around for hours and just sink in another century where kings, queens and suspicious monks were writing history. Thus I highly recommend it.
4. Take a tour at Coachman Museum
I have to admit I wasn’t expecting to be impressed by such a museum, yet here I am! Portuguese have left nothing untapped, so the remote remaining inheritage of all those palaces was exhibited in such a museum along with some paintings of the royals that used to ride them in an imposing building.
5. Get lost in Oceanarium
One of the world’s largest aquarium is Oceanarium De Lisboa, where you can see a huge viriety of fish like tiger and white sharks, rays, spider crabs, octapuses, terrifying eels, corals and many more. The visit will defenately reward you.
