Make Every Man Want You: How to Be So Irresistible You’ll Barely Keep from Dating Yourself! – A Book Review

I have to say that this book, written by Marie Forleo and translated in 13 languages so far,  has a really catchy title. Even though I knew from the beginning that it was gonna be a book about self-improvement and not about some strategy to attract a romantic partner, I was curious about its content, because Marie seems like a prestigious life and business coach and I watch her You Tube videos on Marie TV, where she provides advice in a funny and inspiring way. At first look it seems to give away a secret recipe for ultimate irresistibility. And truth to be told it does, in some way. Even though I don’t believe in ready-made recipes that you blindly follow in order to achieve your goals, I do believe in understanding yourself and know what you want and how you can be a complete, grown-up human being. That is actually what makes you charming.

Although there may be some dark moments in each one of us, like moments of self-doubt, self-pity or disappointment, we have to put ourselves together and try to find our inner happiness. I found this book to be consulting in this way. In my opinion, it ‘s a pleasant guide that provides the basic information on how to be an adult. It also provides some answers to questions about how one can manage their relationships to function better. Therefore, since you can’t control or change the other person, all you have to do is work with yourself. But it’s pretty basic stuff, that you can probably find on your own, if you spend some time wondering and observing yourself and the people around you, keeping notes on what went wrong, what worked  and what could have gone better.

In all, I recommend this book for young adults, boys and girls, despite the fact that it’s been targeted to women of every age. It is suitable for people who want to have a better perception about how relationships work and how you can be true and committed to your own values, not letting yourself get lost in a relationship and communicate better with your partner. Reading it has been fun and enjoyable and it’s pretty short. Barely 200 pages. Take care until next time and keep reading!
